Jakarta Govt Provides Skills Training for Job Seekers

A total of 12,000 job vacancies were offered by 90 national and multinational companies at Job Festival 2025, held at Kartika Expo Balai Kartini, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on 13–14 November 2025.

The two‑day event is expected to attract around 10,000 job seekers. Out of the total positions offered, 7,600 are designated for overseas employment and 5,400 for local positions.

Head of the Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy (Nakertransgi) Agency, Syaripudin, noted that interest in overseas employment is growing in line with rising demand from international companies. However, limited foreign-language skills remain a key challenge for many job seekers.

"Language skill is a key factor in competing in the global labor market, especially for those aiming to work in Japan, Korea, or other countries," he asserted, on Friday (11/14).

The Jakarta Provincial Government offers 60-day free foreign-language training, including Japanese, Mandarin, and Korean, at all Regional Job Training Centers (PPKD) across the city.

Syaripudin explained that the training program is accredited and conducted in cooperation with the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) and certified language training centers, ensuring participants receive globally acknowledged certification.

Moreover, the government is also promoting dual‑skill training packages, meaning participants not only gain technical skills such as mechanics or engineering but also acquire foreign‑language capability to support their chosen professions.

"This way, trainees will gain added value and better chances of being hired by international companies or placed abroad through government and private sector collaboration," he shared.

Syaripudin added that the Jakarta Government is preparing a financing scheme to assist prospective workers with departure‑related administration such as passports, visas, and travel tickets. The scheme may take the form of direct support from the employing company or government subsidies.

"With the combination of technical skills, foreign‑language proficiency, and departure support, we hope Jakarta's workforce can compete and succeed in the international job market," he expressed.
